The Therapy Process

If you have never engaged in therapy before, it can be intimidating to get started. Let me walk you through my process so you can know what to expect. Once you complete the contact form, I will reach out to you to schedule a brief phone consultation where we will discuss your interest in therapy, establish whether I am the right fit for your presenting concern, and, if so, schedule an appointment. Our first session will focus on me getting a deeper understanding of your history and your presenting concern, and making a plan for our journey together in therapy.

From there, I like to allow my clients to guide the topic of each session based on what feels most relevant. I am always happy to step in with suggestions to help us get started, if needed. My clients often report that they appreciate that I am active in therapy, offering coaching and guidance in an empathic and non-judgmental space. It is very important to me that my clients have a good experience in therapy, even if it is not always easy.
